The Legend of Paul & Babe

Watermark Art Center

Located along the downtown waterfront area of Lake Bemidji, this historic Art Center hosts photography, painting, art and fine craft exhibits and workshops throughout the year. Displaying national, regional and local artists in group exhibits, solo shows and installations. Gift shop with unique household handcrafted items, fine art, jewelry, sculptures and more.

BSU Music & Arts

With Lake Bemidji as a backdrop, the arts flourish on the campus of Bemidji State University. Music performances from the big band sounds of the jazz band to enchanting tunes of the chamber singers, and the stunning, annual Madrigal Dinner. Visual arts are on display in three galleries, including student work at the Touche’ Gallery. Annual publications showcase creative writing of students and area authors.

Art in the Park Event

Arts in the Park is a juried fine arts and craft fair held along the shore of Lake Bemidji in beautiful, tree lined Library Park near the statues of Paul and Babe. This annual event held in July features over 100 artists, a dozen food vendors and live entertainment, and is all within walking distance to downtown Bemidji.

Paul Bunyan Playhouse

The Paul Bunyan Playhouse is Bemidji’s professional live production theatre. Nationaly recognized as the oldest professional summer stock company in Minnesota, drawing actors from across the country. Located in the historic Chief Theatre, downtown Bemidji.

Bemidji Art Walk

Since 1999, Bemidji’s Sculpture Walk displays work by area artists throughout downtown, with new works added to the program every year. Begin this creative tour at the Tourist Information Center where you can pick up a walking brochure. Also available online is a guide, chance to vote for your favorites, and artist bios.

Studio Cruise Event

EVENT

A unique drive yourself tour takes you to the studio of more than 25 artisans, all within a 20 mile radius. See demonstrations while learning each artists’ creative process. Opportunities to purchase some one-of-a-kind pieces. This annual event held in October is free.

The Sanford Center

The Sanford Center, Bemidji’s largest entertainment space, is a 185,000 sq.ft., 4,700 seat multi-purpose facility. Home to the Bemidji State Beavers Division I Hockey program, and host to a diverse entertainment schedule of family shows, concerts and exhibits. With over 30,000 sq feet of convention space with on-site catering for meetings, banquets, reunions and weddings, the Sanford Center is the region’s premier venue.
