There are 18 parks in Bemidji, situated on more than 250 acres of land dedicated solely for public use. 160 of these acres are highly maintained parks, with over 8,000 feet shoreland mainted for the public to enjoy! Under the stewardship of Bemidji's Parks & Recreation Department the diverse and fun offerings you will find include 3 swimming beaches, 4 boat accesses with docks, a public fishing pier, marina and at least 10 picnic shelters. There are 6 softball and baseball fields, 8 play courts for tennis, basketball, and an area favorite-pickleball! Bemidji parks provide adventure seekers 13 miles of trails, including one lighted for evening cross-country skiing. Enjoy 4 skating rinks, an incredibly fun disc golf course, a challenging skate park, and. yes, even a park for dogs!

Did we mention the ten playgrounds to be found throught Bemidji parks? And if we may boast, Bemidji was awarded the Minnesota Recreation and Parks Association Award of Excellence for the Paul Bunyan Inclusive Playground Project! This unique playground, by the statues of Paul Bunyan and Babe, was designed so that all kids, no matter their capacities, can laugh and play! It's well worth a visit!
