About

Join Beltrami County Historical Society as we welcome Chas Bettendorf and learn about the Great Northern Railway Historical Society and its publication, the Goat on Thursday, May 18, at noon at the Beltrami County History Center.

The Great Northern Railway Historical Society (GNRHS) is dedicated to the preservation, study, and history of one of America’s greatest railroads, the Great Northern Railway (including our Depot)! Chas Bettendorf, the editor of the GNRHS quarterly magazine, the Goat, joins us as May’s Brown Bag History presenter to share information about the GNRHS and the bond of Great Northern Railway fans across the world!  Originally from Foley, MN, Mr. Bettendorf has served as a history and economics instructor and is a lifelong rail fan.

Participants are invited to the Beltrami County History Center (130 Minnesota Ave. SW, Bemidji) to attend this program FREE. Participants are welcome to bring lunch to enjoy during the program.  For more information about the Historical Society’s exhibits, programs, and volunteer and membership opportunities, please visit https://www.beltramihistory.org.
