Bemidji Jaycees First City of Lights – Night We Light Celebration

Date: November 27, 2020

Location: Sanford Center

Event Details: Celebrate the spirit of the season with one of Minnesota’s largest outdoor light displays with over 300 thousand lights throughout Paul Bunyan and Library Parks and in downtown Bemidji! The illuminated display features the 56 foot tall Paul Bunyan Christmas tree which is set to music every 30 minutes. New additions for 2020 include the 18 ft. tall illuminated and animated Fountain of Hope in Library Park and the Large 12 x 13.5 foot illuminated American Flag Salute to Heroes! The Bemidji Jaycees will kick off the holidays at 6:00pm with the 24th Annual Night We Light “Un-Parade” in the Sanford Center Parking lot. Spectators can enjoy the sights and sounds of a parade as they drive through the lot and see all of the illuminated parade units.

Art In The Park

Date: July17-18 2021

Location: Library Park

Event Details: Art in the Park is a juried fine arts and craft fair held along the shore of Lake Bemidji in beautiful, tree lined Library Park near the statues of Paul and Babe. This annual event held in July features over 100 artists, a dozen food vendors and live entertainment, and is all within walking distance to downtown Bemidji.

77th Annual Water Carnival

Date: June 30th - July 5th 2021
Location: Lake Bemidji Waterfront

Event Details: As our nation begins to come together and with the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Bemidji Jaycees feels that our community needs something to look forward to and celebrate. Come Celebrate the 77th annual Water Carnival!

Bemidji Dragon Boat Festival

Date: August 4-7 2021

Location: Lake Bemidji Waterfront

Event Details: Dragon boat race, which is a team paddling sport on water, using painted boats to which are attached decorative dragon heads and tails. The length of the race can be 500 meters and the normal crew number is 22, including 20 paddlers, 1 steer and 1 drummer. It is a variation of rowing that originated in China and is still associated with the traditional Chinese dragon boat festival or Tuen Ng Festival in Hong Kong.

Bemidji Blue Ox Marathon

Date: October 8th, & 9th, 2021

Time: Saturday: 8:30am

Location: Sanford Event Center

Event Details: Blue Ox Marathon scenic 26.2 mile road course on all paved trails and roads. The route is fairly flat consisting of about 50% paved bike trail and 50% paved road. Most of course is partially shaded with some open areas along lake shore.
Look forward to running through downtown Bemidji along with the loop around the Lake!
No same day registration.
Full marathon is capped at 200 runners.

Lake Bemidji Dragon Boat Festival

July 29 - August 1, 2020

Join us the first weekend of August for one of the area's most popular events, the Lake Bemidji Dragon Boat Festival. Drawing thousands to the waterfront each year, the festivities begin Friday night with the Parade of Teams Opening Ceremony and sprint races. Saturday is a full day of racing, music, food, kid's activities, awards and closing ceremonies. Each night the Dragon's Den features live music and dancing.
