Nothing has really changed from last week’s report other than the Bemidji area received another 15+ inches of snow and travel onto area lakes is extremely difficult. Vehicle traffic is a no go because of the heavy snow and slush. Snowmobiles are a possibility but slush is a big concern. Your best option is snowshoes and pulling your portable.
If you’re willing to work a bit you’ll catch some walleyes, perch and pike on Lake Bemidji, Plantagenet, and Andrusia. Jigging spoons and minnow heads in 20-30’ are turning some fish. It is supposed to warm up a bit so hopefully that will settle some of the snow but it sure won’t help with the slush. There just aren’t many people out. It’s best to call ahead for ice conditions. Please remember to practice selective harvesting, by doing so we will continue to have great fishing for years to come!
