Pick from fun family winter activities: tubing, skiing or snowboarding. Each package includes rentals, lift ticket and a meal. Tubers must be 42 inches or taller and adults must supervise tubers 7 and under. The Registration deadline is the Thursday before the program.

SNOWJOURN XC SKI RACE

Bemidji’s oldest, family-friendly ski event, the 37th annual Buena Vista Snowjourn follows the west side trails skirting the beautiful Buena Vista Ski Area.The many cut-across trail points create variable race and tour distances of 4K, 7K, or 12K. Awards will be presented in skate and classical races, as well as for wood and woolen skiers. Door prizes and hot food at the award ceremony. Registration, start/finish at Buena Vistas Logging Village Lumberjack Hall of Fame.

Kids 8-15–come on out for an afternoon of perch fishing on Lake Bemidji. During Take-A-Kid Ice Fishing Weekend, anglers 18 and older do not need a license if they are accompanied by a child younger than 16, and are actively participating in Take-A-Kid Ice Fishing Weekend. SUNDAY SKI SCHOOL

Learn to cross-country ski, or improve your skills! No equipment? No problem. Equipment is available at no extra cost on a first come basis. Sunday Ski School runs for three consecutive Sundays Lessons are designed to teach the “basic level skills” of either classical or skate skiing techniques, and sessions are available for all age groups. Lessons are taught by a group of volunteers from the Ski Club who have experience in teaching skiing. Our participants have ranged in age from 3 to 75!

BELTRAMI COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY
FUR TRADE IN
January 10th-13th, 12PM to 4PM
Hundreds of years ago, Minnesota played a key role in the fur trade, which stretched across five continents. Visitors to this traveling exhibit can lift a 45-pound Voyageur’s pack, learn how the fur trade shaped Ojibwe art and discover how beaver pelts could be transformed into sleek, stately hats that were all the rage among wealthy Europeans.
