Blooming Trails Horticulture Competition UPDATE

Here is an update for this event:
We have extended the registration date to end Thursday, August 15, 2020 by end of day. That will give everyone a better chance at deciding which flowers or other entries they want to exhibit and complete their registration.

NOTE: you only need to pre-register if you are exhibiting -if not doing that just show up between 10 AM and before noon, drive through and cast your ballots as you leave the grounds.

Click on the Printable Registration Form – print that and fill in the blanks. Mail to: Blooming Trails, % Fair Office, 7223 Fairgrounds Rd NW Suite 7B, Bemidji MN 56601. You can also scan and send that to: bcmnfair@paulbunyan.net.

If you want to do this electronically, click on the Register Electronic File. That allows you to type your information into the form, complete the form, save as a document on your computer (you need to name it – use your last name or whatever and Blooming Trails as a descriptor). Then simply email that document to: bcmnfair@paulbunyan.net

If you do not want to deal with the computer, call Frankie at the Extension Office, 444-5722 and she will fill out the form for you while you are on the phone with her.

We have some really nice prizes, including a first place $40.00 gift card and second place $20.00 gift card for each category. In addition there will be a Becky Livermore Best of Show prize (so named after Becky in honor of all the education and time she has spent promoting horticulture!!).
Swag bags will be available for viewers/voters.

BLOOMING TRAILS HORTICULTURE EVENT

BELTRAMI COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS/SOUTH MAIN GATE Saturday, August 15, 2020
SETUP- 8:30AM-10 AM DRIVE THROUGH VOTING: 10AM-Noon
Enter one exhibit per category. Exhibitors must pre-register. First and second place prizes will be awarded and a Best of Show Award. Exhibitors, upon arrival, will be assigned marked slots on the Fairgrounds and must stay with their vehicle and exhibit. Covid 19 guidelines must be followed including social distancing.
Citizens are invited to drive through and vote on each category. Ballots and maps will be issued at the South gate upon entry and collected at the same upon exit. Swag bags will be distributed upon completing the tour and submitting ballots.
Categories (must include flowers in each – vegetables or vegetation also welcome)
1. Hanging basket, provide your own display hook
2. Patio pot, minimum 18” tall
3. Decorated chair, minimum 18” tall and 3 plants/vegetation from your garden
4. Garden creation: A). Scarecrow or B). Comic strip character. Must be handmade, able to sit and stand and life size. Vegetation not needed for this exhibit.
5. Garden art: unique decoration including plants of choice that serve as art in your garden. Example: wheelbarrow, plant stand, etc.

Registration due Tuesday, August 12, 2020. Voters do not need to register. Winners will be notified by mail and results will be posted on social media.
