The good news is we haven’t had any significant snowfall here in the Bemidji area but it’s still very difficult to get around. There is now a plowed road on Lake Bemidji from the Paul Bunyan Park parking lot and there are a few fish houses off the road. Lake Irving also has a plowed road as well. If you do follow a road out please don’t drill a hole next to someone’s house as it will possibly get flooded out. The snow has crusted a bit so snowmobiles are a good option now but there are still pockets of slush. Your best options on many area lakes is to strap on snowshoes and pull your portables.
Look to Lake Bemidji for a few perch, walleyes, and tullibie in deep water. Lake Plantagenet is kicking out some perch and a few walleyes. Crappie action on Lake Andrusia has been picking up late in the day as well. Please remember to practice selective harvesting, by doing so we will continue to have great fishing for years to come!
