Top of the World Covered Wagon Rides

Catch all of nature’s magnificent fall colors in a horse-drawn covered wagon! Your historic journey follows the Leech Lake-Red Lake Trail, the same route traveled by American Indians, early explorers and pioneers. It’s a path where no roads go, along the high ridge known for centuries as the “Top of the World.” At the pinnacle, autumn splendor is reflected in the panoramic view encompassing nine lakes and the Continental Divide, where separate waters flow to the Hudson Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.

• Historic tours via horse drawn covered wagons
• Tour the Lumberjack Hall of Fame Museum
• Self-guided walking tour of the original town site of Buena Vista
• Blacksmith demonstrations
• Food and music in the Museum with square dancing

WORLD WIDE DAY
OF PLAY FESTIVAL!

At Paul Bunyan Park
September 16, 2017 • 11 AM to 3 PM

A day for kids of all ages planned just to remember how much fun it is to play outdoors! Filled with family fun, the event is held at Paul Bunyan Park, a beautiful, inclusive playground. Activities to enjoy typically include bounce houses, pickle ball, a number activities on bikes including a bike blender, a ride around Lake Bemidji as well as bike safety courses. Choose to participate in the 5k Play, Run, Walk, Roll event. Admission fees apply. Be sure to register soon and receive a t shirt (as supplies last)!

QUILT SHOW & FUNKY JUNK
FLEA MARKET FESTIVAL

September 16, 2017 • 9 AM to 4 PM

Outdoor event set amidst a beautiful fall color backdrop displaying over 150 quilts, with more than 25 vendor booths! Wares to browse include handmade soaps, pottery, dried fall arrangements, tin signs, jewelry, indi yarn, breads, local organic produce, as well as a wonderful array of our favorite, unique junk vendors! Don’t miss tasting the famous wild rice soup and homemade desserts!

This half-day workshop features presentations on seed saving, fall bulb planting, food canning/preservation and wintering of strawberries and raspberries. The workshop is free. Pre-registration required.
