If you want lots of action, the Bass and Northern Pike fishing has been super the past week! Look for Bass and Pike off the deep weed edges and mid lake humps and you should have plenty of action. Throwing plastic baits has worked really well! Crappies and Bluegills are relating to the outside edges of the cabbage using small jigs and plastics/minnows.
The Walleye bite has been a b it tougher, but if you have some patience you’ll boat a few. As the water cools, and some of the bait fish get eaten up, the Walleye bite should only get better! If you’re into pulling cranks after dark, fish the flats and weed tops, you’ll catch plenty of fish – especially on Lake Bemidji.
Have a great day on the water and please remember to practice selective harvesting, by doing so we will continue to have great fishing for years to come!
