Montebello Trail

Lake Bemidji State Park

Bemidji is one of the few areas to offer a lighted trail section for night skiing Open until 10:00 p.m.during ski season. The Montebello Trail, is a gentle course especially suited to beginners and is conveniently located near the Paul Bunyan Mall, restaurants and many hotels. Lake Bemidji State Park, on the north end of Lake Bemidji, has trails that are predominately tracked for classical skiing.  Scenic trails wind through the forest and skirt the lake.  Candlelit social ski tours and the Volkski Classic are just two of the popular skiing events held at the Park

Buena Vista Ski Area X C Trails

Movil Maze

Buena Vista Ski Area, home to the internationally famous Minnesota Finlandia Ski Marathon, is recognized as having some of the finest trails and scenery in the Midwest.

Movil Maze is a favorite training ground for racers.  The steep, hilly terrain and beautiful scenery also welcomes beginning and intermediate skiers.

Three Island County Park

C.V. Hobson Forest Trail

Three Island offers gently rolling trails perfect for beginners and families, including the most scenic and popular trail in Bemidji which parallels the briskly moving snow-capped waters of the Turtle River. The C.V. Hobson Forest Trail takes skiers through forests of red and white pine and across a tamarack bog.  A favorite for beginner and intermediate skiers.
Itasca State Park Fern Lake Trail

A few miles south is the famed Itasca State Park, headwaters to the Mississippi River. Ski trails take you to observation towers, historic buildings, spectacular vistas and right to the mouth of the mighty river itself.

Located south of Bemidji, tracked for classical and skate skiing. Has a long downhill section through towering norway pine forest.

Bemidji High School Trail

MN SKI PASS

Home to the Bemidji High School Nordic Ski Teams, is an easy-going, wide trail groomed for classical and skate skiing.  The southern trail section borders the Mississippi River basin.    Skiers 16 & older must have MN Ski Pass to ski area trails.  
$6 Day Pass (available at State Park)
