Day One
9:00 a.m.  Depart Minneapolis via the Great River Road National Scenic Byway - Interstate 94
Option 1: 10:00 a.m. Arrive St Cloud
                       Tour Munsinger/Clemens Gardens on bank of Mississippi River.  
              11:30 a.m.  Lunch (Flowerpot lunch available)  
Option 2: 
10:30 a.m.  Arrive Little Falls, tour St Francis Convent and Sacred Heart Chapel and campus, known for baking and shipping of  'host' for communion. A chef's choice lunch is a available.
Or - tour Charles Lindbergh childhood home, lunch at area restaurant.

12:30 p.m. Depart for Itasca State Park -Headwaters of the Mississippi 
3:30 p.m.  Arrive Itasca State Park -  stop at Jacob V. Brower Visitors Center.  Tour park with step-on naturalist guide, includes the popular opportunity to step across the Mississippi River at its source. Light refreshment break available. Contact: Jim Keller  218-266-2124
5:00 p.m. Depart for Bemidji via the first section of the Great River Road National Scenic Byway.
5:45  p.m Arrive Bemidji, check into motel
6:30 p.m. Dinner 
Option 1 Bemidji Town and Country Club, overlooks Lake Bemidji
Option 2: Cattails Bar and Grill
Option 3:  "Something for Everyone', downtown dinner on your own.
8:00 p.m. Entertainment
Option 1:  Paul Bunyan Playhouse - Live theater productions June - August. Located in downtown Bemidji.  Walking distance from downtown dining.
Option 2:  Native American Flute - Performance and narrative on history of flute.
Option 3:  Classical accordien, guitar and violin trio.
Option 4:  "Hickory Wind Trio" - Performance by Folk Grass Group.
8:30-10 pm Return to motel
Day Two
8:00 am Photo stop with legendary, huge statues of Paul & Babe. Paul Bunyan and Babe his Blue Ox.  View Paul's memorabilia and the Fireplace of States in the adjacent Tourist Information Center.
8:30 am Tour Bemidji Woolen Mills Factory and Outlet store.  5 generation operation of quality woolen garments constructed in factory here in Bemidji.
10:00 am Next stop, the Headwaters Science Center for a presentation such as 'All About Raptors' and explore the exhibit floor.
11:45 am Depart for Buena Vista Logging Village for chuck wagon style lunch and horse-drawn covered wagon ride to the 'Top of the World'.  From the top of the east/west Continental Divide, the birds eye view of lakes and forest is lovely.  Also learn about another theory of the origin of the Mississippi.
