Island Lake - Big Fork River Watershed Area

Island Lake is 3,088 acres with a maximum depth of 35 feet.  A public access is on the northwest shore off State Highway 46.  It is located within the Big Fork River watershed 2 miles from Northome.  There are four inlets and an outlet draining to Shallow Pond Lake Fish species in the lake are walleye, northern pike, pumpkinseed sunfish, yellow perch, rock bass, with smaller numbers of black crappie and bluegill.  Largemouth bass were not sampled in the last survey, however, one 15-inch smallmouth bass was sampled in a gill net.
