Big Rice Lake is a 618 acre lake with a maximum depth of 13 feet.  It supports moderately dense populations of small northern pike and yellow perch.  Walleye can be found in higher numbers, but influenced by the river and weather conditions.  Other species found are rock bass, pumpkinseed sunfish, brown, black and yellow bullhead, bluegill, black crappie and largemouth bass.  There is a canoe rest stop on Turtle River below Big Rice Lake
