Bemidji's
statue of Paul Bunyan,erected
for the
1937 Winter Carnival, has been
steadfastly greeting visitors ever since.
While, not the only Paul Bunyan roadside
attraction in the nation, Bemidji's statue
is the oldest and was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in
1988.

Year of the Legend Themed Events
On January 20, 2012, Bemidji's Mayor read
a Proclamation designating 2012 as the
Year of the Legend.
Many organizations are planning their
festivals and events with the Paul Bunyan
theme.

showing their community spirit by donning
red and black plaid

The third Saturday of each month,
throughout 2012, the Cabin Coffeehouse &
Cafe is hosting a Paul Bunyan Cookie
Decorating activity. 2:30-4:30
pm 217 Third St NW
$3 per
person to decorate one Paul, one Babe, and
4 other cookies of the month.
